According to the Colorado Division of Insurance if you own a motor vehicle you are required to buy auto insurance. You are required by law to get a liability insurance in case that you cause injuries or damage other people’s properties while driving your motor vehicle.

According to the Colorado driver’s manual the minimum auto insurance you must have is:

  • $25,000 for bodily injury or death to one person in any one accident.
  • $50,000 for bodily injury or death to two or more persons in any one accident.
  • $15,000 property damage coverage.

You may obtain coverage above the minimum coverage required by the state, to protect against uninsured/underinsured drivers, and physical damage.

If you want to know about auto insurance coverage in Colorado or if you have any questions regarding auto insurance coverages you must carry in Colorado you may contact the CO Division of Insurance.
