You can always phone in your complaints to the Colorado’s Insurance Department which will be ready to field complaints and possibly investigate on your case.
However, before contacting anyone at the State level, it is always best to speak with your insurance agent and the company’s complaint department first. This is because you will be told by the state to do that. To save yourself the time and effort, you better call your company in Denver CO first.
Once you do make a call relating to your auto insurance complaint, be sure to document the date, time and subject matter of your call, including the name of the person that you talked to in order for you to Cover Your Argument (CYA).
Whatever correspondence, replies, expenses, phone calls, and anything else you have relevant to this case will have to be filed by you accordingly. You have to read and re-read your policy so you know your arguments to whatever your insurer or agent claims to. This time, it is but proper that you treat your insurer and agent as your enemy in the sense that they would always find a way to cover their @ss.
If you are still unhappy with your insurer’s response or worse, no action was made on your case from their end, then you can go ahead and escalate your case to the Colorado’s Insurance Department.
